Does it cost anything to sign up?

No. Creating an account is free for every role. Job seekers get the full career toolkit free. Recruiters and businesses can post jobs and browse candidate and SMME directories free, with full contact details and CV downloads reserved for a paid plan.

Which role should I choose when I sign up?

Accepted Answer

Choose Job Seeker if you are looking for work or planning your next career step; Recruiter if you hire on behalf of clients; Business if you hire and also source suppliers; SMME if you run a small business chasing tenders, contracts and funding. Your role controls which tabs and tools you see, and you can change it on your Profile page.

Do I need to sign in to see jobs and tenders?

You can browse a limited public preview of jobs and business opportunities without an account. Full descriptions, closing dates, contact details and the ability to save an opportunity require a free account.

How does the CV analysis work?

Accepted Answer

Upload a PDF or Word CV on the CV Analysis page. We extract the text and run an AI review that returns an ATS score out of 100, your strengths, the gaps holding you back, rewritten suggestions, the skills we detected and the roles you are a fit for. Your analyses are private to your account.

What is the ATS score?

It estimates how well your CV would survive an applicant tracking system — formatting, keyword coverage, clarity of achievements and completeness. Above 80 is strong, 60 to 80 needs tightening, below 60 usually means structural problems worth fixing before you apply again.

How does Career Path work?

Once your CV is analysed, the Career Path page automatically uses your detected role, experience and skills to build a roadmap: realistic next roles, the steps to get there, the skill gaps to close, suggested courses and an indicative salary outlook in rands. You can also enter a target role manually.

What do Interview Coach, Skills and Cover Letters do?

Interview Coach generates likely questions for a role and model answers using the STAR framework. Skills builds a 90-day skills-development plan against a target role. Cover Letters drafts a tailored letter from your profile and a job advert you paste in. All three pre-fill from your CV data and keep their content while you move between tabs.

Who can see my CV and personal details?

Your uploaded CV, ATS score and development notes are private. Recruiters and businesses see a limited professional snapshot — headline, role, province, industry, experience and skills — with your name masked. Full name, contact details and CV download unlock only for paying recruiters and businesses.

Is posting a job free?

Yes. Recruiters, businesses and SMMEs post jobs free from the Post a Job page. A salary range is mandatory on every listing — it improves application quality and pay transparency.

What do I see on the free plan versus a paid plan?

Free: unlimited job posts, the full candidate directory, matching against your posted roles, and each candidate's professional snapshot. Paid: full names, email and phone, complete skills and CV strengths, and downloadable CVs. Pricing is being finalised — use the Contact page to register interest.

How does candidate matching work?

Once you post a job, we score job seekers against it on role title, skills overlap, industry, province and years of experience, and rank the best fits first. You can also browse or search the whole directory by role, province, industry and skill.

Can I check whether an SMME is compliant before I appoint them?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The SMME directory shows CIPC registration, tax compliance status, B-BBEE level, professional registrations, services offered and a summary of recent project work. Registration and VAT numbers plus the named contact unlock on a paid business plan.

Where do the tenders come from?

Accepted Answer

Business Opportunities pulls live public-sector tenders directly from the South African National Treasury eTenders portal using the Open Contracting Data Standard feed. Closed tenders are filtered out and the soonest closing dates are shown first. You can search by keyword and province and save what fits.

What funding options are listed?

Accepted Answer

The Funding page covers SEFA, NEF, IDC, NYDA, SEDA and private or impact funders, with what each one funds, typical amounts and what you need before you apply. It is a guide to where to apply — New Phase Hub does not itself lend or grant money.

Can an SMME also hire staff on the platform?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SMMEs can post jobs and search candidates alongside their tender and funding tools, with the same free and paid limits as other hiring accounts.

Where do the job listings come from?

Accepted Answer

Two sources: live South African listings from the Adzuna aggregator, and jobs posted directly by recruiters, businesses and SMMEs on New Phase Hub.

How do saved items work?

Accepted Answer

Any tender or job can be saved with the save button. Everything you save appears on the Saved page with its closing date so you do not miss a deadline.

Is New Phase Hub POPIA compliant?

Accepted Answer

We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act. The Privacy & POPIA page sets out what we collect, the lawful basis, how long we keep it, your rights to access, correct, delete or object, and how to reach our Information Officer.

How do I delete my account or my data?

Accepted Answer

Email the request from the Contact page and we will action it. You can also delete individual CV analyses, career roadmaps and saved items yourself at any time from inside the app.
